Exposing Islam – Allah, The Best Deceiver (Arabic, Makr)

The Qur’an describes Allah as the best deceiver (Arabic, makr) there is:

But they (the Jews) WERE DECEPTIVE, and Allah WAS DECEPTIVE, for ALLAH IS THE BEST DECEIVERS! – Qur’an 3:54 (cf. 8:30)

(Arabic: Wamakaroo wamakara Allahu waAllahu khayru al-makireena)

Other texts that identify Allah as a “makr” include:

So THEY SCHEMMED A SCHEME: and WE SCHEMED A SCHEME (Arabic: Wamakaroo makran wamakarna makran), while they perceived not. –  Qur’an 27:50

Not only are these verse show that Allah is a deceiver but he competes with his creature to be the best of it, how pathetic! I for one believe that this is Muhammad’s own response to his opponents.

And verily, those before them did deceive/scheme (Arabic: makara), but all deception IS ALLAH’S (Arabic: falillahi al-makru). He knows what every person earns, and the disbelievers will know who gets the good end. –  Qur’an13:42

The Arabic word for deception/deceiver/scheme is makr. The lexical sources define the term as:

Miim-Kaf-Ra = To practice deceit or guile or circumvention, practice evasion or elusion, to plot, to exercise art or craft or cunning, act with policy, practice stratagem.

The Qur’an states that Allah actually raises wicked individuals to deceive and scheme:

Even so have We placed in every city, ringleaders of its wicked ones, to SCHEME (deceive) therein (Arabic: liyamkuroo): but only against themselves shall they scheme (Arabic: yamkuroona)! And they know it not. – Qur’an 6:123, Rodwell

And further commands people to do evil so that he can then have a reason to destroy them:

And when We would destroy a township We send commandment to its folk who live at ease, AND AFTERWARD they commit abomination therein, and so the Word (of doom) hath effect for it, and we annihilate it with complete annihilation. – Qur’an 17:16,Pickthall

The Qur’an uses another word to denote that Allah is a liar, a schemer who has no problems using guile, namely “kayd”:

And those who cry lies to Our signs We will draw them on little by little whence they know not; and I respite them assuredly My guile (Arabic: kaydee) is sure. – Qur’an 7:182-183, Arberry

And I shall respite them — assuredly My guile (Arabic: kaydee) is sure. – Qur’an 68:45, Arberry

The lexicons provide the following definitions:

Kaf-Ya-Dal (Kaf-Alif-Dal) = To be about to, be just on the point of, be well nigh, intend, wish, practise an artful device, desire, contrive/plot/devise such a thing, worked or laboured at or upon anything, to do something clandestinely, to deceive/beguile/circumvent, means of evading/eluding, vomited, emitted fire, had menstrual flux, gave up his spirit.

There is more to the story. The Qur’an uses yet another word in describing the deception of Allah, that word being khida/khuda/khada”:

Verily, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allah, but it is He Who deceives them (Arabic: Inna al-munafiqeena yukhadiaaoona Allaha wahuwa khadiaauhum). And when they stand up for As-Salat (the prayer), they stand with laziness and to be seen of men, and they do not remember Allah but little. – Qur’an 4:142, Hilali-Khan

[Side note: Is this Muhammad’s words or Allah’s? Does Allah refer to himself as “he”?]

Here, once again, is the lexical meaning of this specific word:

Kh-Dal-Ayn = To hide/conceal, double or fold, deceive or outwit, pretend, to enter, vary in state/condition, refrain or refuse, relinquish, to be in little demand of, deviate from the right course, resist/unyield/incompliant, turn away and behave proudly.

Lest there be any confusion concerning the fact that this word means that Allah is a deceiver notice how this term is used in the following references:

They (think to) deceive Allah (Arabic: Yukhadiaaoona) and those who believe, while they only deceive (Arabic: yakhdaaoona) themselves, and perceive (it) not! – Qur’an 2:9, Hilali-Khan

And if they would deceive thee (Arabic: yakhdaaooka), then lo! Allah is Sufficient for thee. He it is Who supporteth thee with His help and with the believers, – Qur’an 8:6, Pickthall

Is there any doubt that the unbelievers were using deception as they tried to deceive Muhammad and his companions? Just as there is no doubt that Allah also uses deception in deceiving them!

It gets worse. Satan accused Allah of misleading or deceiving him:

He said: Now, because Thou hast sent me astray (Arabic: aghwaytanee), verily I shall lurk in ambush for them on Thy Right Path. – Qur’an 7:16, Pickthall

[Iblis (Satan)] said: “O my Lord! Because you misled me (Arabic: aghwaytanee), I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead (Arabic: walaoghwiyannahum) them all. – Qur’an 15:39, Hilali-Khan

What makes this last reference rather interesting is that Satan promises to do to mankind what Allah did to him, namely, pervert/deceive/mislead people from the path!

[For the record, biblically, Satan was not deceived by God. He corrupted himself by thinking he could be better than God – See Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:14-18]

Lest a Muslim says that these are the lies of Satan, that the enemy was merely slandering Allah, here is a text where the Qur’an acknowledges that the Devil was right since Allah does pervert/deceive/mislead people from the way:

And my sincere counsel will not profit you, if I desire to counsel you sincerely, if God desires to pervert you (Arabic: yughwiyakum); He is your Lord, and unto Him you shall be returned.’ – Qur’an 11:34, Arberry

To say that this is amazing would be a wild understatement.

Allah deceives Muslims

Are they then secure from Allah’s deception (Arabic: makra Allahi)? None deemeth himself secure from Allah’s deception (Arabic: makra Allahi) save folk that perish.  – Qur’an 7:99

This is strange, how come Muslims are the ones not secured from Allah’s deception but unbelievers are?

Contrast this to the God of the Bible:

The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will BLESS HIS PEOPLE WITH PEACE. – Psalm 29:11

14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you…14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage.John 14:18, 27

Allah created Christianity by his deception

According to Islam, Jesus is not God, and he was not crucified (Qur’an 4:157), yet an entire religion sprung from Jesus’ death on the cross and subsequent resurrection. This is the central focus of Christianity. Allah however, makes it clear in the Qur’an that Jesus was not crucified (died) and he is not God’s son, meaning that Christians are in error to follow these beliefs. But why do Christians think he was crucified? Because Allah admits that he made it appear so (Another deception of Allah):

And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the messenger of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure. Nay! Allah took him up to Himself; and Allah is Mighty, WiseQur’an 4:157-158

So we see that Allah admits to making it appear (to the people) that Jesus was crucified on the cross (and died), and that Allah then raised Jesus to himself (ascended him to heaven). Therefore Allah admits to deceiving the people. For the next 600 years, Allah sat back and watched all these people converting to, and following Christianity; a religion that was started by his deception, but he did not bother to lift a finger to correct anything until 600 years later, when he sent Muhammad with the Qur’an – to sort out the mess that he himself (Allah) had created. And why is Qur’an 4:157 the only verse that denies the Crucifixion in the entire Muslim traditions without any further explanation given?

Let’s look at it from another point of view;

Allah sent Jesus to ‘fix’ the errors that had crept into Judaism, but then undoes any corrections that were made from the intervention (and Jesus’ message) by making it appear (in the end) that Jesus was crucified and then raised from the dead. This negates the entire purpose of sending Jesus. This leaves the people with not only one alternative to Allah’s ‘true’ religion, but two; Judaism or Christianity which entails (among other things) following the message of Jesus, which Allah himself had corrupted by making it appear that he had risen from the dead. So for 600 years, Allah’s pure religion was not to be found on this Earth and now (thanks to Allah’s deception) had two competing faiths to deceive the people and tempt them away from the ‘straight path’. This makes no sense.

Now, let’s see how the Bible describes the True God, Yahweh:

“He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a man, that he should change his mind.” 1 Samuel 15:29

“Into your hands I commit my spirit; redeem me, O LORD, the God of truth.” Psalm 31:5

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” John 14:6

“A faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time,” Titus 1:2

“Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged.” Hebrews 6:17-18

As we see, God cannot lie! So, who is the deceiver/liar according to the Bible?

The Bible calls Satan, the Deceiver:

You people are from your father the devil, and you want to do what your father desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.John 8:44

So that huge dragon – the ancient serpent, the one called the devil and Satan, who DECEIVES the whole world – was thrown down to the earth, and his angels along with him…20: 10 The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever. – Revelation 12:9

Other passages about deception and warnings:

4. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. – Matthew 24:4-5

Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who create dissensions and obstacles contrary to the teaching that you learned. Avoid them! – Romans 16:17

But I am afraid that just as the serpent deceived Eve by his treachery, your minds may be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 11:4 For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus different from the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit than the one you received, or a different gospel than the one you accepted, you put up with it well enough!…11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 11:15 Therefore it is not surprising his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will correspond to their actions. – 2 Corinthians 11:3

As we have said before, and now I say again, if anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let him be condemned to hell! – Galatians 1:9

So we are no longer to be children, tossed back and forth by waves and carried about by every wind of teaching by the trickery of people who craftily carry out their deceitful schemes…5:6 Let nobody deceive youwith empty words, for because of these things God’s wrath comes on the sons of disobedience. – Ephesians 4:14

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. – Colossians 2:8

2:3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not arrive until the rebellion comes and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction… 3:14 But if anyone does not obey our message through this letter, take note of him and do not associate closely with him, so that he may be ashamed. – 2Thessalonians 2:3; 3:14

1 Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the later times some will desert the faith and occupy themselves with deceiving spirits and demonic teachings, 2 influenced by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared. 1Timothy 4:1-2

10 Reject a divisive person after one or two warnings. 11 You know that such a person is twisted by sin and is conscious of it himself. – Titus 3:10-11

Do not be carried away by all sorts of strange teachings. For it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not ritual meals, which have never benefited those who participated in them. – Hebrews 13:9

2:1 But false prophets arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. These false teachers will infiltrate your midst with destructive heresies, even to the point of denying the Master who bought them. As a result, they will bring swift destruction on themselves. 2:2 And many will follow their debauched lifestyles. Because of these false teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. 2:3 And in their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words. Their condemnation pronounced long ago is not sitting idly by; their destruction is not asleep. – 2Peter 2:1-3

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.1 John 4:1

1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, people who do not confess Jesus as Christ coming in the flesh. This person is the deceiver and the antichrist! 1:8 Watch out, so that you do not lose the things we have worked for, but receive a full reward. 1:9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not remain in the teaching of Christ does not have God. The one who remains in this teaching has both the Father and the Son. 1:10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house and do not give him any greeting. – 2John 1:7-10

Conclusion

In light of the foregoing it seems rather hard to deny that the spirit who spoke to Muhammad, the entity who is revealed in the Muslim scripture, is none other than Satan, the enemy of our souls, masquerading as God in order to deceive people away from the truth of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ:

“I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough… For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” 2 Corinthians 11:2-4, 13-15

“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!” Galatians 1:8-9

Come to Christ, Oh Muslims!
